Privacy Policy
Plexer Labs (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides GPS Speedometer: Simple & Fast (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.

1.Information the App uses
Location and speed
With your permission, the App accesses your device's location to show your current position and calculate or display information such as speed and distance.
Location information may include:
- Precise or approximate device location
- GPS coordinates
- Speed and location accuracy information provided by your device
- The time associated with a location reading
The App needs precise location permission to provide its speedometer and trip-recording features. If you don't grant permission, or if you turn location services off, those features may be unavailable or limited.
GPS accuracy depends on your device, satellite reception and surrounding conditions.
Trip information
When you choose to start a trip, the App records information about that journey on your device. Depending on the available GPS data, this may include:
- Your route and location coordinates
- Trip start time and duration
- Distance travelled
- Speed readings
- Average and maximum speed
- GPS interruptions or gaps
- The vehicle or activity category and any name you assign to the trip
Starting a trip is optional. You can use the live speedometer without recording a trip.
App settings
The App stores your preferences on your device. These may include your selected speed unit, vehicle or activity category, display settings, theme color, speed-alert limit, sound and vibration preferences, and screen-on preference.
Information you provide when contacting us
If you email us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message and any attachments. We use that information to respond to your request and provide support.
Please avoid sending sensitive information or trip data unless it is necessary to explain your request.
2.Trip recording when the App is not visible
When you tap Start to record a trip, the App uses a location foreground service to continue recording the journey when your screen is off or you switch to another app.
Android displays an ongoing notification while the trip-recording service is active. You can end the recording by tapping Stop in the App or using the Stop action in the notification.
The App records location for this purpose only after you start a trip. You can also pause an active trip using the controls in the App.
3.How we use information
The App uses the information described above to:
- Display live GPS speed and location
- Record and show your trip route and statistics when you start a trip
- Show your position on the map
- Provide speed alerts you enable
- Save your preferences and display settings
- Allow you to review, delete, export or share trips
- Respond to support requests
4.Where trip data is stored
Your recorded trips and App preferences are stored locally on your device.
The current version of the App:
- Does not require an account
- Does not upload your saved trips to a Plexer Labs server
- Does not provide cloud backup or synchronization
- Does not include advertising or in-app purchases
5.Google Maps and third-party services
The App uses Google Maps SDK for Android to display online maps. When the map feature is used, the SDK communicates with Google's services to load and display map content. Map requests may relate to the area displayed on your screen.
Depending on the SDK version, configuration and how the map is used, Google may process information such as:
- IP address
- Device and operating-system information
- Maps SDK version and request metadata
- SDK-specific identifiers
- Crash information and diagnostic data
- Map interaction information, such as panning or zooming

Using the map requires an internet connection.
6.Exporting and sharing
You may choose to export trip information or share trip details using another app.
When you export or share information, it is sent or saved only through the destination or app you select. The destination or receiving app may handle that information under its own privacy policy.
Exported or shared copies are separate from the data stored inside this App. Deleting a trip from the App does not delete copies you have already exported or shared.
7.Permissions
The App may request or use the following Android permissions:
- Location: To display speed and position, and to record routes and trip statistics when you start a trip.
- Notifications: To show information and controls associated with an active trip, subject to your Android notification settings.
- Foreground service and foreground-service location: To continue a user-started trip recording while the screen is off or the App is not visible.
- Vibration: To provide vibration alerts when you enable them.
- Internet and network access: To load online map content and check network availability.
You can change location and notification permissions in your device's Android settings. If you revoke location permission, live speed and trip recording may not work.
8.Data retention and deletion
Recorded trips and settings remain on your device until you delete them, clear the App's storage or uninstall the App.
You can delete saved trips from Trip History in the App. You can also use Android's app settings to clear the App's stored data. Clearing storage or uninstalling the App removes its locally stored data.
To remove an exported or shared copy, delete it from the location or service where you saved or sent it.

9.Data security
Trip records are stored in the App's local storage on your device. We encourage you to protect your device using a screen lock and keep Android updated.
No method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Information you export or share may be protected differently depending on the destination you choose.
10.Children's privacy
The App is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a support request, please contact us at support@plexerlabs.com so we can review the request.
11.Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy if the App's features, data practices or legal requirements change. When we make an update, we will revise the Last updated date at the top of this page.
